About me

Committed to integrating building projects with their surrounding environments in a sustainable and community-friendly manner, Michelle Robinson devotes significant professional energies to pursuing environmentally friendly and historically sensitive project execution. Located in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Michelle Robinson has worked on various matters for public and private entities across the country, but most often in the Mid-Atlantic region. Michelle Robinson's firm has committed itself to maintaining the most current knowledge and practice skills in sustainable practices and always has at least one Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited professional available for all projects. Under Michelle’s leadership, the firm Michelle Robinson Architects (MRA) has spearheaded a number of community revitalization and urban forestry projects, not just for Lebanon but also for communities throughout the country. In Delaware, Michelle Robinson worked with the state’s Department of Transportation to develop the statewide Pedestrian Master Plan and the Bicycle Facility Master Plan to reduce fossil fuel consumption and traffic congestion on the state’s roads. In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Michelle Robinson’s firm served as Project Manager for the beautification of a local schoolyard in an underserved community, where she worked with neighbors, parents, school employees, and students to complete Phase I of the project, resulting in the planting of 80 trees on the property and the creation of a site plan for the remaining phases. Believing in sustainable, natural infrastructure and transportation facilities, Michelle Robinson commits a significant portion of her professional energies to preserving historic transportation resources through restoration rather than rebuilding. Examples of her work include her advisory and design services for the Moynihan Station Revitalization Project in New York City and the façade improvement study for Philadelphia’s 60th Street Commercial Corridor. In addition to seeking her assistance in creating pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly areas in Delaware, the state also appointed her Project Manager of the Transportation Enhancement Program, which handled the renovation and preservation of historic lighthouses, train stations, and other transportation facilities. Personally committed to sustainable practices, Michelle Robinson actively participates with Philadelphia’s UC Green project as Boardmember. Additionally, Michelle Robinson is a Knight Fellow of the University School of Architecture, an Environmental Leadership Program Fellow, and a Co-chair of the Community Design Collaborative’s Project Committee. Her non-professional activities include renovating historic homes and reforesting urban areas.
